CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- Classes at Washington High School (WHS) resumed early Tuesday afternoon after a fire alarm caused a temporary evacuation. Fire officials recommended clearing the building after an odor triggered the alarm. Students returned to class after fire crews arrived at the school and quickly identified an air handler as the source of the odor.

Jefferson County Schools is grateful to our staff and our partners at the Fire Department for working together to keep students safe.
