JHS Boys' and Girls' Cross Country Teams Sweep Conference Championship and Regionals

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - The Jefferson High School Boys' and Girls' Cross Country teams are finishing the season strong with sweeps of their conference championship and regional meets at the individual and team levels! Both teams won the Eastern Panhandle Athletic Conference (EPAC) Championship and the Class AAA - Region II meet with near-perfect scores. They will now advance to states for the third consecutive year.

The boys' team scored 16 points, and the girls' team 18 points at the EPAC Championship. Both teams followed up at Regionals with scores of 20 and 23, respectively. A perfect score in cross country is 15 points. The double victory comes under new coach Brad Dugan, who was named EPAC Coach of the Year for both teams. 

Conner Myers and Hannah Phillips were the individual winners of their respective races at Regionals. 

The boys' team advancing to states includes: 

  • Conner Myers (winner, regional individual)
  • Justin Gotlieb (second place)
  • Owen Thompson (fourth place) 
  • Kyle Lewis (fifth place)
  • Reese Hickey
  • Connor Ireland
  • Travis Jenkins
  • Shawn Swartz. 

The girls' regional champion team advancing to states includes: 

  • Hannah Phillips (winner, regional individual)
  • Claire Burkhardt (second place)
  • Layla Parker (third place) 
  • Faith Foglesong (sixth place) 
  • Norah Keenan (eighth place)
  • Mable Cotgreave
  • Alyssa Dinges
  • Ashly Peltroche-Chilo
