Three teams from Shepherdstown Middle and one team from Wildwood Middle attended the Vex State Robotics Tournament in Fairmont, WV, this past weekend. Thirty-two teams from throughout the state were invited to the tournament. The Wildwood Middle School Golden Dragons took third place at the tournament The SMS Bob the Bobart Builders Team (Gabe Hoover, Gracie Lemaster, and Silas McConnell) won the Create Award. According to the VEX Forum, “the VEX Create Award recognizes a team with a uniquely creative engineering design, highlighting innovative solutions, solid mechanical functionality, and a strong, documented design process.” (www.vexforum.com)
